the campaign for ed

The Campaign for Ed is the Birmingham Education Foundation’s effort to support the revitalization of the Birmingham City Schools for the 26,000 school children of Birmingham. The accompanying fundraising campaign to launch the Ed movement has a challenge goal of $5.1 million over three years. “Our children” are depending on us and this community to provide them with schools they deserve and that will fully prepare them for success in work and in life. Ed is bringing the voice of the community to the Birmingham City Schools Leadership. Ed plans to support the school system to fulfill its mission and vision.

BEF is raising funds for educational initiatives that benefit students and promotes systemic change in Birmingham City Schools. The Campaign for Ed has four strands, each connected to the BEF Community Agreement. BEF has established a three-year budget to develop signature programs in the four identified priority areas including streamlined administrative operations to staff Foundation strands and programs. A working goal of $4.4 million and a challenge goal of $5.1 million have been established as campaign goals.
